Glad I persisted with it but wish the previous two were better.

Living among the Sachakan rebels, Lorkin does his best to learn about them and their unique magic. But the Traitors are reluctant to trade their knowledge for the Healing they so desperately want, and while he assumes they fear revealing their existence to the world, there are hints they have bigger plans. Sonea searches for the rogue, knowing that Cery cannot avoid assassination forever, but the rouge's influence over the city's underworld is far greater than she feared. His only weakness is the loss of his mother, now locked away in the Lookout.

The narrator wasn't great, a little monotone but you get used to it. The story resolves around 3 story's it old have been 4.. It set everything up for one character then ignored her till near the end.. What happens with the conversations with the women trying to get messages through? It was a thread started then forgotten.
The whole thread with Llia left me going... The ring.... She told you it's purpose in detail yet you forgot it? Yet none of the mid readers picked up on it.. For the most part it felt frustrating. I like the characters. I like the word a d the premise but it could have been put together so much better than this...

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

I read the Martian and enjoyed it, the math and science detail made it feel realistic and enjoyable. So I was expecting more of the same when I picked up this book.
It's such a different story line, smart main character with bad life decisions and still the detailed explanations but less math lol
Overall better than expected... Wounder when they will make a film of it...

After celebrating his birthday with a Monopoly-board pub crawl around London, he came to in a burger bar on one of Saturns moons, wearing a lady's pink crimplene hat and a pair of yellow fishing waders, with no money and a passport in the name of "Emily Berkenstein". The overall story was really good and I loved daisy's chipper personality and voice done by the narrator, but the main characters voice was so robotic I often thought I was listening to a computer reading of the book! I know it's the same narrator but that voice grated on me throughout. The story its self is basic enough but it's more about the disability and living with it, the inclusion of poems and quotes from all over through the character dialogue was a nice touch.
It's turtles all the way down...

over all enjoyable book.
