Beimg born im the 60's myself I remember days of respect & kindness, loss & tragedy, joy & pain and an overwhelming feeling of not knowing who I was or where I am going. Sir Michael's book is a wonderful piece of autobiograpghical modesty of a life I would love to say I lived so well but know I couldn't ever achieve. From humble beginnings to famous ends he narrates a life that itself would be screen drama. A leading lady, chance meetings, close disasters and a golden ending of a life well lived. It would be a dream to take a small percentage of that spirit and add it to my own life. I thank Michael (as he apparently likes to be called) for setting this inspirational story to paper and I hope before he goes I can personally thank him for one screen role that changes every Christmas for me. Read, Enjoy and reflect.

In a different world, one people today cannot imagine, a single person takes it upon themselves to break convention and succeeds where no-one expected success to be found. This is a fascinating book for anyone with an interest in the reality of espionage, not just the glamour. These are real peoples lives but with such a twist. I truly enjoyed this book.

As a potential member of St Mary's staff I wait with anticipation every time a new episode comes out. I scamble to get it, listen in awe and regret when it's over.
I then wait for my brain to get distracted to a point where i can listen again without spoiling the plot.
Markham's character is so infectious (joke intended) that if anything negative happened to him I woun't know what to do.

Note to Author, please don't let anything happen to Markham.

This is a delightful excursion into the day to day lives of St Marys and enlightened me. I never knew that "it" was available even before the Civil Wars....(nothing Civil about them)

Can't wait for the next one. See you at Christmas

Wow, as someone who grew up with the 1980's this brought back a flood of memories and missed times. I love that Will Wheaton brought this story to life. I am seriously glad I listened the book. It will be a favourite for years to come

What did you like most about The Golem and the Djinni?

The ability of the writer to draw you into the mentality of the Golem and Djinni characters was astonishing. Once in the book, you totally accept that there is a possibility that both fantasy characters are existing in the world today.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Djinni was my favorite overall character because of his abilities and vunerabilities.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favourite?

George Guidall portrayed the Golem in a wonderful way. The expressive quality of his voice suited the powerful but innocent character of the Golem.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free AND your storied pomp.

Over too soon.

It all started when Audible offered me a short story to listen too. My love of all things St Marys grew from that little kindness and now I await each book with bated beeath. This book did not disappoint at all. Once again our characters find themselves doing exactly what we would expect for all the reasons right or wrong. My desire now is to jump into a pod and go forward in time to where there are 4 more books to read/hear. And the world went white

A free book is always nice to have though it could be something the listener does not like. This was not the case as I thoroughly enjoyed the book and it will have the side effect that I shall be buying more of the same series
