Born with Teeth
- A Memoir
- By: Kate Mulgrew
- Narrated by: Kate Mulgrew
- Length: 10 hrs and 40 mins
Audie Award, Narration by Author, 2016. Raised by unconventional Irish Catholics who knew "how to drink, how to dance, how to talk, and how to stir up the devil", Kate Mulgrew grew up with poetry and drama in her bones. But in her mother, a would-be artist burdened by the endless arrival of new babies, young Kate saw the consequences of a dream deferred.
Honest and sincere, what an exceptional author!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
One of the best biographies I've 'read', and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Born with Teeth?
When Kate got that call towards the end, no spoilers here!
What does Kate Mulgrew bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Kate has such a wonderful voice and energy, which brings the story alive. You couldn't experience this reading the book, although it is such a superb memoir you would be pulled in nevertheless.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Roar quietly, cry sweetly and bare those teeth when you laugh fully
Any additional comments?
I would not hesitate to purchase anything else by Kate Mulgrew, or was read by her. If I could have given a higher rating I would have. My only complaint, it wasn't longer.
