As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell - and trimonite, the hardest material known to man. When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating and waiting for suitable prey. Hoop and his associates uncover a nest of Xenomorphs, and hell takes on a new meaning. Quickly they discover that their only hope lies with the unlikeliest of saviors.... Ellen Ripley, the last human survivor of the salvage ship Nostromo.

Hadn't read the synopsis and downloaded anyway. Was surprised at the cast, story and how much I enjoyed it. If you're a fan of the original movie you may take issue with a few elements. If you can permit some poetic license then I think you might enjoy this.

There is no descriptive narrative. Half the time I don't know what's going on. Having the original characters is a big seller but the producers might add a narrative so I don't have to rewind and try and figure out what has just happened. Edit: I found I was mentally filling in the blanks after the second story. Easy listening.

Doug Stanhope is one of the most critically acclaimed and stridently unrepentant comedians of his generation. What will surprise some is that he owes so much of his dark and sometimes uncomfortably honest sense of humor to his mother, Bonnie.
