The first book by James Deegan is one of my favourites definitely in my top 5 , 5 stars !!!!!

If honest I struggled with this book i did not feel I connected like with the first book.
the characters and story did not grab me like the first book
I will try his next book and I am hopeful it will be similar to his first which was excellent

I really enjoyed the first book as I guess a lot of the book is based on his upbringing and perhaps some real life events.
I felt a lot more engaged while listening to that one.
So if you have not listened to that book I would recommend it.
I struggled to get through this book.
The cross over into fiction I feel was not as convincing and it was a little doom and gloom with some parts in the beginning particularly .
But that is my own opinion.

I normally read reviews and never bother to write one myself.
I would urge anyone who likes this kind of subject to listen to this book.
My first book I listened too was bravo two zero which I loved since then I have been trying many different titles to match it.
This book being some fiction and I would imagine a lot of real life matter is great and I was with it the whole way.
Joshua the voice artist is brilliant as well and does all the different nationalities really well.
It find it amazing how these ex regiment men write such good accounts of there previous life's and careers.
It is not for the faint hearted as some scenes hold no punches.
Clever killings like the scene in the car in ireland ( won't spoil it but really grime. )
You are left thinking did this happen in his experience or is it made up brilliant writing.
I will buy the next book out as I know there is going to be another and wish James all the best for writing a cracking book and too many more hopefully.
Also I almost missed the author speaking on audio after the book has finished so don't miss that.
He gives a good account of himself.!!!

I really enjoyed this book
Nice easy listen,I took notes as to some of the workouts as I went through the book.
Not easy at all but it is a great way to motivate ones self and try and get to 1000 push ups in a day.

I have really enjoyed listening to this story .Paul the narrator is excellent and of course the story from mcnab it amazing.
If you like high based technical information about the art of warfare this is a dip in the ocean you will enjoy.
I actually at times had my heart racing as I listened to the segments that involved heavy armed fire or the torture.
Mcnab also heavy involves you in the more humain features of a sas solider trying to show you both soon sides of the man
I am now going to look at listening to immediate contact.
Knowing this actually happened makes it even more amazing
