Very enjoyable and great fun for the whole family, but the sound effects were often too loud and overpowered the vocals. Sometimes when the vocals dipped in volume to provide depth to the sound, it was too quiet. Most of the voice actors were very well done but some were quite flat in emotion.

I would recommend this as a bedtime treat with the whole family, there is some mild swearing like 'up yours' but fitting with the time and theme.

Thiis book had a lot of potential and I felt the main character was very believable, until the end.

I guessed the ending just before the 'discovery' and the book dragged out the reveal. We spend most of the time listening to the main characters thoughts and trauma, very little happens and the reveal is basically an accident. Overall it was pretty poor. I wouldn't recommend. I liked the narrator though.

Dragged on.

Started off OK, but was a lot of filler and could have ended much sooner. Wasn't a particularly interesting or original take on common theme. Quite predictable and eventually became quite boring.

Average tween story.

I think I was expecting YA with a thriller\drama twist but it was very generic, 2 dimensional LGBT characters for the same of looking 'woke' and a very disappointing disjointed ending. I wouldn't recommend, it felt very young but also was clearly inappropriate for younger children. it It was emotionally immature for a YA audience.

Predictable well narrated fun

I was after an easy book to listen to whilst doing some work, this fit the bill perfectly. It was a rather predictable romcom type boom that would be a typical romantic film but the narration was very good and fish out of water type stories are always easy fun. If you like romantic comedy types then you'll enjoy this.

Predictable and silly.

i really struggled to finish this book, the 'twist' was obvious from chapter one, the red herrings were glaringly obvious and there were many continuity errors and it was filled with nonsense that was just there to move the plot along, despite it actually making no real sense. The sub-plot was also hugely predictable, the whole book was unoriginal and was clearly designed to shock, contrived drivel. Very disappointed and would definitely not recommend.

Enjoyable but there was one big flaw.

I don't want to give anything away, I enjoyed this book, the character development was as good as the first, although very similar characters and dynamics. But the big problem is that knowing the outcome from the first book, really impacts on how invested you feel with the 2nd book. It all feels sort of futile and pointless after the reveal at the end of the Girl with all the Gifts. I'm assuming the third book will either build on what is now created and move forward, which would be very interesting, or possibly will tell the tale from Beacon which will then be as problematic as this book. fingers crossed its the first option. Very Well narrated and still enjoyable but nowhere near as good as the first, hopefully the third will be as full of interest and intrigue as the first book was.

Entertaining in a trashy sort of way. Predictable and over the top. Wouldn't read again but fine for an easy poolside read or something. Much better books of a similar nature out there.

I really enjoyed the idea but it was not a very sophisticated plot, and it didn't do as much with the idea as it could have. It was enjoyable in a fun, trashy novel with a bit of edge, sort of way. But too shallow and focused on predictable twists and shocks, try reading Margaret Atwood for more substance and thought provoking questioning of society and what could be.
