Introducing Audible's Thriller of the Year: Silent Child by Sarah A. Denzil, performed by Joanne Froggatt. In the summer of 2006, Emma Price watched helplessly as her six-year-old son's red coat was fished out of the River Ouse. It was the tragic story of the year - a little boy, Aiden, wandered away from school during a terrible flood, fell into the river, and drowned. His body was never recovered. Ten years later Emma has finally rediscovered the joy in life...until Aiden returns.

Excellently written novel. It coupled a recognisable reality with twists and turns that keep you hooked until the end. Cannot recommend enough. The familiarity of Joanne Froggatts voice really helps to keep you invested in this thrilling tale.

In this gripping psychological thriller, a group of privileged suburban moms amuse themselves by googling everyone in town, digging up dirt to fuel thorny gossip. Caroline Thompson, devoted mother of two, sticks to the moral high ground and attempts to avoid these women. She's relieved to hear her name appears only three times, citing her philanthropy. Despite being grateful that she has nothing to hide, a delayed pang of insecurity prods Caroline to google her maiden name - which none of the others know.

The concept of the story is an interesting one. However there were a few 'holes' in it that were never really explained and the lead character was irritating to say the least. This being said I did need to keep listening which is unusual for me when I don't like a character. So all in all if you don't want examine the facts too closely and can deal a neurotic lead character its not a bad listen.

This is a really good listen. A unique story told in a contemporary and compelling way. The characters make you want to know more about them which drove me to snatching every free minute I could to listen to another couple of chapters! Recommended to all ages who enjoyed 'the girl on the train' with a touch of Christian Grey thrown in.
