Welcome to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where shape-shifters, vampires, witches, and dragons live alongside humans. The town formed around the mysterious energy rift in the bayou, which helps keep the town’s magic in balance. But lately the rift has been widening and destabilizing - threatening to send the town’s magical population into chaos. Energy witch Danica Teel has been sent by the League to figure out what’s going on, with the help of bear-shifter Mayor Zed.

Fans of Kresley Cole will love Molly Harper. I love Mystic Bayou and it's residents. This is the second Mystic Bayou book I have listened to.

I look forward to reading or listening to the whole series.
The narration is brilliant.
Thank you.

Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

I received this as part of a 2 for 1 offer.

This is the perfect bridging listen after a book hangover. It is still a great listen as a stand alone.

I really enjoyed the story and the narration.

I want to live in Mystic Bayou!

I hope to listen to more of Molly Harper's books.

Emmett Farmer is working in the fields when a letter arrives summoning him to begin an apprenticeship. He will work for a Bookbinder, a vocation that arouses fear, superstition and prejudice - but one neither he nor his parents can afford to refuse. He will learn to handcraft beautiful volumes, and within each he will capture something unique and extraordinary: a memory. If there’s something you want to forget, he can help. If there’s something you need to erase, he can assist. Your past will be stored safely in a book and you will never remember your secret, however terrible.

If I had read this, I would certainly have cheated and skipped to the end. I was rapt all the way through. This is one of those rare stories that you cannot wait to finish but then mourn reaching the end. Thank you Bridget Collins, I adored The Binding. I look forward to more of you.

Carl Prekopp's narration and care of the distinctive voices of Bridget Collins's characters and their world was utterly delightful. Thank you Mr. Prekopp for your stunning delivery, I would love to hear more of your narration.

I will be purchasing a hard copy of this because I wish to make a home for The Binding in my bookcase of forever stories.

Giles Wood and Mary Killen - better known as 'Giles and Mary off of Gogglebox' - joined us in the Audible Studios to discuss their debut audiobook The Diary of Two Nobodies. Believe it or not, they have a life outside that Channel 4 smash-hit programme: Giles is a brilliant artist and Mary a prolific author and journalist. They spoke to us about how they ended up on Gogglebox, what the most annoying things about each other are and the unusual term of endearment they use for each other.

Engaging interview with two of our nation's sweethearts, Giles and Mary, from the television series, Gogglebox.
The interviewer has very little to guiding, except perhaps to rein in one of Giles's gripping streams of consciousness, and the flow of the session is enjoyably paced. I have read and enjoyed the writing of these two separately, but together they are a tour de force of marital comedy.
After listening to this, I will now be adding 'Diary of two nobodies' to my Audible wish list, plus a longing to revisit Scoop!

I was my dad's vinyl-wallah: I changed his records while he lounged around, and that's how I know my Argo from my Tempo. And it's why, when Dr Walid called me to the morgue to listen to a corpse, I recognised the tune it was playing. Something violently supernatural had happened to the victim, strong enough to leave its imprint like a wax cylinder recording.

Another excellent story in the PC Peter Grant series.
Looking forward to following the series through.
Kobna Holden- Smith has an engaging voice, a vast array of characterisation and keen attention to emotional conveyance.. I have considered buying the books, but decided it would detract from the magical quality of Kobna Holden-Smith being PC Peter Grant to my ears and visualisation.
Thoroughly recommend this book and series to all fans of wizardry and supernatural fiction.
