I have read his dark materials many times which I love; the characters, the plot, the magic... but this! I’m just not quite sure what this is! Firstly what happened to the Lyra we love, where’s the plot to keep us enthralled. I feel like i have just listened to over 19hrs of Michael Sheen telling me a story which doesn’t really go anywhere! For the love I bare for the first trilogy I will persevere and carry on with the next book but I do hope it leads somewhere good!

Humph... well that’s another book down and having to wait for the next. Pretty annoying to have to wait, as the story, for all it was good, didn’t go anywhere, it was a filler book, a stepping stone book, the book in between where you have to wait for the next.
For an author with a self proclaimed different writing style and having written all the books already, you have to wait an awfully long time for the next.
Hurry up the next release please I need to know what happens.
Really getting into this series and intrigued to know how it ends

Love a good fantasy world but sick of the same old regurgitated story of some hero in some besieged kingdom or some sort of wizard in a magical battle or even some kind of orc or elf spin off??!
Well that has been me for so long.
Peter V Brett has created a new kind of world with new rules and a new story line, I can’t rate this series enough, I just love it. A world where you can really relate to and really get to know the characters, you can actually feel like you are there with them, living the story with them.
If you don’t like a story based around a lot of character building this story is not for you.
I must point out that I did physically read the books numerous times before acquiring the audio book so I was in love with the story before it’s narration, which I must admit I’m not in love with, I feel you loose some of the love for certain characters when the narration doesn’t quite portray them as it is written in the book.
Whether you only listen to audio or you read as well this is a definite must must must!

Read twice, Now listening to Audio.

Peter V. Brett is a genius! The plot, his style of writing everything! I have read this series many times but decided to try the audio for when I'm driving. Role on the next book release!
The Colin the narrator is amazing, really captures the essence of the characters with varying accents and tones. The only thing I would say about the audio is it may be a little difficult to keep up with characters and the language and wording of the different cultures, a lot of the names and words can sound quite similar so may be easy to mix up, as read before this wasn't a problem for myself but could be to someone else. I suggest maybe acquiring the books and having a look at the translations in the back, very interesting.
Anyone else hoping to see this on screen?!?!?!?
