...considering the darker story line (which is neither funny nor to be laughed at) behind the character, the author has perfectly balanced intrigue with amusement in her writing style and made it a truely addictive read and im disappointed that the four days of reading it demanded of me (as I couldnt put it down), sprinkled with unexpected moments of laughing out loud has come to an end! thank you for sharing your writing passion this book deserves an audience!

If you could sum up The Power of Vulnerability in three words, what would they be?

LIFE CHANGING TEACHING!This is probably THE most affirming book I have read...... as a Trauma Therapist I am always hoping the interventions we as therapists lean on for clients trying to find a path out of emotional dysregulations are the best possible, most effective path with optimal prospects... This book told me the paths clients choose as a result of our work are steps towards being wholesome! It is just so good to have all of life's questions all answered in one book... I say one... I have read most of Brene Browns books because they are the best audio books ever to listen to...This book has totally changed my life... stopped me sweating the small stuff and just affirmed the right path and given me permission to just step forward. It has given my clients an understanding of what happens between them and their relationships and provided a light in the darkest of tunnels for couples facing divorce who were essentially throwing the shame hot potato at each other. No other book has so many life concepts explained in everyday language so accessible to those who struggle with life. Thank you Brene I am so grateful for the work you and your team do.

What did you like best about this story?

Brene describes herself as not very slick with her delivery... that made me laugh so hard... because everything she says just flows so well, from fact to story that explains the fact to explanation to how that links with another of life's challenges...

What about Brené Brown’s performance did you like?

When I can't sleep I can stay up all night listening to Brenes work and feel completely refreshed in the morning ... she makes continuous professional development feel like a walk in the park... Most books I read or audio listen to, I am keen to write notes all the way through because they are hard work to grasp and don't want to miss anything because I never intend listening again... I don't worry about this at all with Brenes delivery because I know for instance Rising strong as a spiritual practice I listened to 4 times the first week I bought it ... and can't wait to read it again.... Not only did I remember most of the concepts first time round, but it was just a joy to listen to over and over.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Shame... people either respond... I'm sure it's a thing but I don't know what you are talking about or yes its's a thing and we are not talking about it... I had a therapist who did this to me and it was infuriating! I now make shame my top topic to listen out for and naming in trauma work because I really get the way shame invokes the fight, flight freeze fear responses and so we can't reach it in the outside world so easily.I think the world needs a directory of people who are not afraid of shame... until we all have a shame buddy to call and shame can be dispelled forever.
