I was looking for something to fill the void whilst waiting for new instalments in Chaos Seeds, The Realms, SAM and Eden’s Gate, and boy am I glad I found this!

Great main character to cheer for, interesting setting, lots of progression and not bogged down in stats or status updates like others. I’m hooked and excited for the next one!

I was hesitant to continue the series as I worried it would be more relationship focused than story driven but Sarah did a great job building on the previous novel and expanding the world with new intricacies and intrigue.

Certainly held my attention well, the narration is excellent, and I look forward to continuing the story in book 3!

A nice progression to Eden’s Gate - the story felt a bit weaker overall than previous instalments but still very enjoyable and I am eager to dive back into Eden’s Gate for the next one.

Only critique would be when the author used ‘could care less’ rather than ‘couldn’t care less’ several times.

I was expecting the Magi to be the rest of Sung’s teammates so was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn’t as predictable! More please :)

I really do love the setting and characters in this series. All flawed but impossible not to be fond of!

The pacing of this book was a bit slow compared to six of crows, but Leigh has created a very crafty and interesting storyline that is very much worth seeing through. Just when you think there’s no way out, you realise you missed something and the story takes another turn.

I would love a sequel!

I honestly can’t recommend this enough. After bouncing around some LitRPGs, I wanted to find something more story-driven and this was PERFECT. The setting is very interesting and feels very “alive”.

It doesn’t take long to become attached to the characters and the story has plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked. The narration is unique and done to a high standard. Very much looking forward to the sequel!

The author introduces some interesting new mechanics and delivers another compelling story with the great characters we have come to enjoy. Narrator did a good job portraying such a vast roster of people in a convincing way.

Lots of anticipation for the next book!

Really didn’t know how this would turn out and just when I expected the author to have Gryff save the day it had another twist in the tale.

The specifics of what was happening and how got slightly “murky” in some places, but still a very enjoyable listen and I am looking forward to hearing what happens in the next book!

This is the 6th LitRPG series I’ve tried, and it has quickly become one of my favourites. It took a little while to get into, but thanks to the excellent narration and story telling, I soon found myself fully immersed in the world.

Gryff is certainly an interesting main character, and I am excited to hear what happens next!

I’ve always been a fan of Greek mythology, but to have them brought to life in such a relatable and comprehensive fashion is truly entertaining.

Stephen Fry does an excellent job on narration and has clearly done plenty of research to ensure his sharing of the stories is not only interesting but also accurate and thorough.

Highly recommend!

Don’t get me wrong this was an enjoyable book, but it was also extremely frustrating. Jenna Murphy is such an annoying character - I’m all for a flawed detective character like Harry Hole for example, but she is infuriating and has almost no redeeming qualities.

The female narration is excellent and the story was well written even if Jenna was unable to follow even the most basic logic trails.
