started great - a new company bigger than Facebook matching DNA of partners. The book follows the story of a few such couples. Very early the book forced itself into a page turner, each couple had unbelievable things happening to them. As i progressed with the audio-book it got disappointing - waited for the book to end.

The story of this German colonel in WWII is OK, he participated in most major battlefield. but his description of the German occupation of Poland, France and Russia is disturbing. The Germans are always gentlemen, helping out wounded and hungry locals (helping out Russian soldiers and civilians) - the cheek to write the story as if the German war was like any other war. Hardly any mention of the discrimination of Jews and their holocaust. Explaining why he was protecting SS and gestapo prisoners in Russian captivity and justifying this. Disgusting!

very inspiring writing, but the science, fears and descriptions are not relevant anymore. It was written in the 80's and it fills like the early 80's.

Would you consider the audio edition of One Shot to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the book, I saw the movie and listen to the audio book

What did you like best about this story?

Like in other Reacher stories, the character of John Reacher is the main interest.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The fight against the five dudes who were hired to beat up Reacher.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really - it is mostly action, very little emotions.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to listen to the next Reacher book.

What made the experience of listening to The Blind Watchmaker the most enjoyable?

The narration by the author and Lalla Ward makes for a good combination.
The chapters are mostly interesting - with a few over the top explanations.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Darwin - because he is right - only he is right - all the rest are wrong - according to Dawkins - Darwin's prophet.

What about Richard Dawkins and Lalla Ward ’s performance did you like?

The split in reading the material.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it requires digestion time - to comprehend the ideas presented.

Any additional comments?

While I am convinced by most arguments in the book, the zealous following of Darwin - and rebuttal of all other evolutionary views smacks a bit like religion - my god is the only god!.

OK I suppose I do not like Cussler's style. I read one of his books many years ago, gave it another try. Very disappointing, constant action with no soul. shallow characters, no emotional attachment to them, constant surprises that are disappointing (oh no that not how it should develop).

If you like these books I am sure you'll enjoy the constant action, I found it shallow, disappointing and was desperate for it to end so I can listen to a better book.

Great surprise. Amazing characters. It is a very small story, very local yet it describes the British society in rich colours. The characters are amazing, especially the bullying descriptions. Rowling describes the essence of community and makes it interesting. Very little action or happening, yet a great read, one of the best audio books I listen to.

I love this books, great story, keeps me in tension and great narration. This story convinced me to buy two eBooks by Baldacci.

The characters are full of life, interesting and link together very well.

The story develops and is exiting along the way.

A great book to listen if you enjoy action stories.

Last of a long journey

I read and listen to the wheel of time twice. A very long journey (many hours) and it all ends in this book. At last!. This ending is very good in some aspects, disappointing in others. Great ending to the major characters of the saga, but there are too many large battles that are described, I did not empathise with the large battle descriptions, I did not feel involved in them.

If you read / listen to the rest of the series you have to listen to this book. Enjoy it!
