A truly original debut novel from an extraordinarily talented new voice in children's books. Laugh, cry and wonder at this race-against-time story of a boy who travels back to 1984 to prevent a go-kart accident and save his father's life.... My dad died twice. Once when he was 39 and again four years later, when he was 12. The first time had nothing to do with me. The second time definitely did, but I would never even have been there if it hadn't been for his 'time machine'....

I bought this for bedtime listening for my 6 year old and 9 year old. It gripped us all, including me. For the 6 year old he didn’t really get into it until the time travelling bit. But for the 9 year old and myself, we were captivated throughout. We all agreed this is the best children’s audio book that we’ve come across so far. For the last three nights we stayed up later as we clambered to hear more. This will be one we listen to over and over again I think. While my boyfriend found the narrators accent annoying, the kids and I really liked it.

Go Alan Shearer!

Bravery, courage, fear, and love in a time of war. Despite their differences sisters Viann and Isabelle have always been close. Younger, bolder Isabelle lives in Paris while Viann is content with life in the French countryside with her husband, Antoine, and their daughter. But when the Second World War strikes, Antoine is sent off to fight, and Viann finds herself isolated, so Isabelle is sent by their father to help her. As the war progresses, the sisters' relationship and strength are tested.
