Another fantastic book from Mark Tufo. Hopefully we’ll be hearing more from Indian Hill in the not too distant future. This will make you laugh out loud in places whilst bringing a tear to your eye in others. The characters are almost family to me and I honestly can’t wait to hear from them again.

'If I had my way, every idiot who goes around with Merry Christmas on his lips, would be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart. Merry Christmas? Bah humbug!' Charles Dickens’ ghostly tale of sour and stingy miser Ebenezer Scrooge has captivated readers, listeners and audiences for over 150 years. This Christmas, Audible Studios brings this story to life in an audio drama featuring an all-star cast.

Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

It's now two years since the zombie apocalypse changed the world. Survival is precarious for Zach Gunderson and his friends. They are encountering zombies who are evolving into something more than mindless automatons, and the group dynamic is threatened by the revelation of a murderer in their midst. They handle each situation in their own special manner, but a seemingly innocent encounter with a group of Marines leads to disastrous consequences.

This was okay compared to the previous novels. It seemed a little rushed to get to the ending and left a far too wide gap at its end. I love a cliffhanger but it's more like a precipice and not in a good way. Overall enjoyable and if you've listened to the others worth finding out what Zach has gotten up to but could have been better.

Would you consider the audio edition of Mr Mercedes to be better than the print version?

Most definitely. The characters are brought to life by Will Pattons performance. They're given depth and almost life by his investment into them.

Have you listened to any of Will Patton’s other performances? How does this one compare?

On par by far.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A killer on the crowd, do you recognise him??

Any additional comments?

A really great Stephen King book that had me hooked in the first chapter. I truly had trouble turning it off and leaving the story at the end of the day.
