Chilling initiations. Big banks and money manipulations. Possible links to the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Adamses, and Bushes. Reviewing the evidence, documents, and connections, The Illuminati: The Secret Society That Hijacked the World by award-winning journalist and author Jim Marrs shines a light on the history, workings, continuing influence, and pernicious and hidden power of this secret order. Surveying experts, Marrs cuts through the wild speculation and the attempts to silence critical thinkers to tell the true story of this secret cabal.

The fate of the Lost Ark of the Covenant is one of the great historical mysteries of all time. The Bible contains hundreds of references to the Ark's power, but the Ark itself mysteriously disappears from recorded history sometime after the building of the Temple of Solomon. After 10 years of searching through the dusty archives of Europe and the Middle East, Graham Hancock has succeeded where scores of others have failed. This intrepid journalist has tracked down the true story behind the myths and legends - revealing where the Ark is today, how it got there, and why it remains hidden.

Our current climate of partisan fury is not new, and in The Soul of America Meacham shows us how what Abraham Lincoln called the “better angels of our nature” have repeatedly won the day. Painting surprising portraits of Lincoln and other presidents, including Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, and LBJ, and illuminating the courage of influential citizen activists and civil rights pioneers, Meacham brings vividly to life turning points in American history. Each of these dramatic hours have been shaped by the contest to lead the country to look forward rather than back.

This is an amazing book. As a non-american it gave me a glimpse of the politics and political minds of influential politicians from Independence to the present day. Never realised the massive role President Lyndon Johnson played in Civil Rights. Also, profoundly disappointed at so many proponents of segregation in the Democratic Party down the decades. My bad, my ignorance. Congratulations Jon Meacham, with minds like yours there is hope for USA.

Well worth a purchase . A great insight into the FBI ethos & the imperfections of individuals. I have no reason to doubt James Comey, what a toxic political environment he had to work in when Trump became potus, my only concern is the book did not spend enough time on the nasty moneyed people who control politics. It was not just that buffoon who wanted JC out because they could not buy him. And there’s the bigger question!

"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." Bob Woodward is who he is but the book is a slight view of that period in the WH. In years to come a read of the book would not give a full perspective on DJT, his antics and his negative impact. US foreign policy is exceedingly questionable especially in Syria and Afghanistan but Bob toes the line as if US are the good guys. Thats also disingenuous to the truth. Otherwise, a great listen to! :) Would recommend provided one has a non-american view of the world.
