The Book of Ebenezer le Page
- By: G. B. Edwards
- Narrated by: Roy Dotrice
- Length: 21 hrs and 26 mins
Ebenezer Le Page, cantankerous, opinionated and charming, is one of the most compelling literary creations of the late 20th century. Eighty years old, Ebenezer has lived his whole life on the Channel Island of Guernsey, a stony speck of a place caught between England and France yet a world away from either. Ebenezer himself is fiercely independent, but as he reaches the end of his life he is determined to tell his own story and the story of those he has known.
Wonderful warm story

A truly wonderful book!
Until recently, I knew virtually nothing about the history of Guernsey, nor how it maintained a different identity from the UK mainland. My eyes were opened by the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which described life on the island during WWII, However, this fictional 'biography' of an islander who lived there for most of the 20th Century described the changes on the island and interactions between the islanders and the incomers from the mainland.
Thoughtful, and measured, it is a book to be treasured slowly and returned to frequently.

- The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, Book 1
- By: Nora Roberts
- Narrated by: Katherine Kellgren
- Length: 10 hrs and 41 mins
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.
Fantastic modern witchy tale

What disappointed you about Dark Witch?
The performance completely spoiled the story.
What was most disappointing about Nora Roberts’s story?
How could the performance have been better?
If the reader had been someone who had some idea of an Irish Accent - surely an important element to a story?
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No, because I have previously enjoyed READING Nora Roberts and will do so in the future, I hope
