The most powerful men in the world were all together in a circle in the middle of the room. Drawing their daggers, they cut their right hands and, above the pile of gold, swore Odysseus’ vow: Helen could marry whom she liked, and the Princes would defend them both.… Everyone’s heard of the wooden horse of Troy, and of the beauty of Helen. Well this is the story as Odysseus saw it, from his boyhood in Ithaca to his participation in the bloody Trojan war itself.

Finally, I have found a way to read this classic, the paper tome of which has been gathering dust, unread, for years. Fans of all things high brow may not like it, but I think it's wonderful. Probably the only way I'd get through it. This is not only for kids, but I'm sure they'd love it. An epic tale, told in as relatable a way as is possible, considering the gulfs of time, culture and language. Thank you, Messrs Curtis and Robinson!

Johnny Maxwell and his friends have to do something when they find Mrs Tachyon, the local bag lady, semi-conscious in an alley...as long as it's not the kiss of life. But there's more to Mrs Tachyon than a squeaky trolley and a bunch of dubious black bags. Somehow she holds the key to different times, different ears: including the Blackbury Blitz in 1941. Suddenly, now isn't the safe place Johnny once thought it was as he finds himself caught up more and more with then.

Pure joy. This collection has kept me going for months (listening at night and dropping off to sleep). I am only sorry to have finally reached the end. Many of the stories are just a couple of chapters long. Some even only one. It's incredible how suspense can be woven so effectively into tales so brief. The narrator is perfect. In fact this audio version is my favourite way to consume the adventures of Mr Sherlock Holmes. Surpassing even Jeremy Brett's on-screen depiction. Superb!

Great intro to meditation for me. Explained gently and thoughtfully. The voice is kind and gentle and the meditations can be listened to over and over again. I often listen in bed at night and just drift off to sleep. One thing that could be improved: the placement of the meditations at the end. They would be far better in place, between the chapters, as they are introduced! As it is now, you have to faff about finding Then you can easily skip past theme right one, and they are only labelled by number, so you have to guess/eemember which number wach one is, starting from about 29, which ends up being a little disruptive to the experience. However, that aside, it's still a great book and I recommend it. I have bought an additional one for a friend.

In years to come, this will be just accepted as common knowledge. It ought to be, because it's so useful.
A marriage counsellor of many years, Dr Chapman has recognised these patterns of basic emotional need. And it is just that: need; usefully distilling his findings into this book, and identifying these needs as "love languages".
Some of the stories brought me close to tears. Others, laughter. The magical part is the healing that Dr Chapman has brought to thousands of people and the amazing part is that it's pretty simple stuff once it's pointed out. Even when one partner is uninterested and stubborn, the technique can still be employed. This is special stuff.
