An extraordinary story and a perfect performance. I think this might be my favorite audio book ever. The story is pacey, funny, interesting and tense; dealing with the sorts of big philosophical ideas you would expect from Pullman. What really makes this is the incredible performance. A stunning audio book.

This is a quietly and subtley disturbing story. Very beautiful and very dark. The narration by Emilia Fox is flawless.

This is a dark and unsettling view of human behaviour. If you're looking for something cheery this isn't it! However it is brilliantly written, clever, funny and poetic.

Tom Hiddlestone's narration is superb. I would highly recommend this audiobook.

I'm the same age as Hadley Freeman and so much of this book resonated with me. It's a wonderful love letter to a cinema age that has gone for good, and also a fascinating insight in to some of the issues covered by these films. I highly recommend this.

Where does Me Before You rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a great story and an original idea, but not one of the best readings.

What did you like best about this story?

I like love stories that are a little bit different. This one is original and well-written. The characters are rounded and believable. Even though you think you know how the story is probably going to end you are never sure.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

This has several narrations for different character sections. The bulk of the book is the narration of Lou which is good. Her sister is not so good, and weirdly one section of a report written by a woman is narrated by a man.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending is beautiful and absolutely heart-rending!

This is such a shame. Faro's Daughter is one of my favourite Heyer novels but the narration is shockingly bad. Many of the voices sound similar and Mr Ravenscar just sounds wrong to me. But the real problem is how often the intonation and attitude is completely wrong - this really jars when the text states how the line is spoken.

A stellar story (see what I did there?)

Really really enjoyed this in a way that I haven't enjoyed an audiobook for quite some time.
You have a sarcastic, grumpy anti-hero fighting for survival on Mars. It's a wonderful premise and the novel more than lives up to it.
There is lots of technical information, but it works: it sounds plausible and makes the whole thing feel authentic. It's balanced out by some fantastic characters.
Only negative is that some of the characters are a bit clichéd, otherwise this is a cracking audiobook. Highly recommend.

Absolutely charming. A sweet, affectionate romantic comedy with well-rounded characters. Only downside is that I've powered through it in two days!

I do really love this audiobook. The performance of Francis Cheviot is exceptional - one of the best I have ever heard in any audiobook. The thing that lets this book down is character of Eleanor; she's just not likeable. I've listened to this a few times and struggle to find any positive comments from her. If there were just a few more light-hearted moments from her you could like her so much more!

One of the best!

One of my favourite Heyer stories. Funny and clever with a host of great characters. Sophy is a great heroine. The narration is perfect.
