Quite a good story, obviously based on the Fred and Rosemary West story. Unfortunately it was absolutely ruined for me by poor narration. This is the third time I have found a book ruined by poor narration. Wish whoever chooses narrators would pit a bit more thought into choosing the correct one for the story.

Best narrator I have heard is Jonathan Keeble, such a pleasure to listen to.

The last thing to go through Dominique Thomas's head was the image of her teenage daughter's face and her heart lifted. Then the shot rang out. They were the perfect family. Successful businessman Ben Thomas and his wife Dominique live an enviable life, along with their beautiful children: teenager Ruby and quirky younger daughter Mouse. But on Christmas Day the police are called to their London home, only to discover a horrific scene: the entire family lying lifeless, victims of an unknown assailant.

Not as good a book as I expected from other reviews. Think this was probably because the ending was told at the beginning of the story. The first chapters were very slow and at one stage I was temped to give up but I persevered and it did pick up about three quarters of the way through the story. Quite a good story, just a pity the beginning dragged so much.

Boiled human bones have been found in Norwich's web of underground tunnels. When Dr Ruth Galloway discovers they were recently buried, DCI Nelson has a murder enquiry on his hands. The boiling might have been just a medieval curiosity - now it suggests a much more sinister purpose. Meanwhile, DS Judy Johnson is investigating the disappearance of a local rough sleeper. The only trace of her is the rumour that she's gone 'underground'.

Another great Dr Ruth Galloway Mystery. Can't wait for next one, unfortunately have to wait until 2018.

I am so disappointed in this book. It was a reasonably good read until it ended abruptly in the middle of the story! Will never buy another Linwood Barclay book. I feel really cheated and have wasted so much time.

When a corpse is found floating in the River Thames, the police can at least be sure that identifying the victim will be straightforward. Around the dead man's wrist is a hospital band. On it are the words 'Dr F. Klein'. But psychotherapist Frieda Klein is very much alive. And, after evidence linking her to the murder is discovered, she becomes the prime suspect.

I enjoyed the book but it was spoiled for me by the narrator. She appeared to think she was reading a story to a child. I would not buy any more books read by this narrator.
