From her first day at Westwind Cremation & Burial, 23-year-old Caitlin Doughty threw herself into her curious new profession. Coming face-to-face with the very thing we go to great lengths to avoid thinking about, she started to wonder about the lives of those she cremated and the mourning families they left behind, and found herself confounded by people's erratic reactions to death. Exploring our death rituals - and those of other cultures - she pleads the case for healthier attitudes around death and dying.

I found Caitlin's work by stumbling across her Youtube channel. Since then I have devoured her books and found great insight in every one. Her broad knowledge and open minded sensitivity has turned my paralyzing fear of death into something I want to connect with and I encourage others to do so as well.

The stand-up comedian of his generation. Star of stage and screen. Tireless supporter of charity. Runner. Political campaigner. Fashion icon. Human. There is no one quite like Eddie Izzard. This is the story of how a boy who wanted to become a professional footballer and win the lead in Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat found comedy.

I really liked the extra footnote rambles. While I am a fan of Eddie Izzard's work I had never taken the time to learn anything about him and was pleasantly surprised by this mighty tome. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a nice long chat as that is how the book feels for the most part, although when he starts talking about his theory of space and cyclic universes I confess I rolled my eyes a bit.

I'm a big Eddy Redmane fan, so I thoroughly enjoyed this performance. it may be greedy to say so but I wish this book had been lengthened during its revision to include some more magical monsters - it is little more than a paragraph per creature but for a young listener or someone less invested in the real nitty gritty of how something that doesn't exist goes about it's day to day nonexistence should still find pleasure in this.

Excellent performance of a real spine chiller. This has got to be one of my favourite audio books and I urge fans of the film to give this a go to compare the two. You should all know this by now but 9 times out of 9 and a half the book is better!
