What do you do when you wake up in your mid-40s and realize you've been living a lie your whole life? Do you tell? Or do you keep it to yourself? Laura James found out that she was autistic as an adult, after she had forged a career for herself, married twice and raised four children. Odd Girl Out tracks the year of Laura's life after she receives a definitive diagnosis from her doctor, as she learns that 'different' doesn't need to mean 'less' and how there is a place for all of us, and it's never too late to find it.

As a 55yr old, who is just going through the process of being diagnosed, this book has been a real blessing and an insight. I have hidden all of this from the world (thinking I was crazy).
Laura has given me moments of laughter and ‘ah-has’, others of tears and even more of ‘I can do this’.
Thank You

Ok I admit that I find Stacey a breath of fresh air on Television - yet, at 54, I honestly wondered how much I would learn/get from this book.

She was open, honest, relatable and so much more. There were so many areas where I agreed totally and there were even more areas where the wisdom of Stacey’s thought process and outlook on life just made so much sense!

A real gem of a book that came at the right time. Would genuinely recommend to anyone of any age:)

I need to start by saying that I love and have such great respect for the knowledge and learning that Dr Joe Dispenza shares. However as much as the content for this book is remarkable, enlightening, educational - there are so many references to see image 3.2 or 4.3 or in the coloured insert etc that much of the time you are left with a struggle to associate what is being said with what you are being asked to physically see to understand the concepts.
If there were a downloadable PDF to go with the audiobook this would be amazing and I would raise my review to 5 *.

After the sudden death of her husband, Sheryl Sandberg felt certain that she and her children would never feel pure joy again. 'I was in "the void,"' she writes, 'a vast emptiness that fills your heart and lungs and restricts your ability to think or even breathe.' Her friend Adam Grant, a psychologist at Wharton, told her there are concrete steps people can take to recover and rebound from life-shattering experiences. We are not born with a fixed amount of resilience. It is a muscle that everyone can build.

If you could sum up Option B in three words, what would they be?

Quick reader warning - probably best not to start listening to this book when in public. I listen to audiobooks when I am out walking and on this occasion I was in a very public place, headphones on and within minutes my eyes were welling up and there was a lump in my throat. How I held the tears in I don't know.
Life throws us unplanned curveballs that throw us off the path that we thought we were on. Sheryl shares her journey with deep honesty. Covering emotions, strategies, ups and downs and so much more. It was inspiring and at times gut-wrenchingly real.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Option B?

The beginning - I didn't want to stop listening

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Surviving is a journey full of unexpected blessings

Any additional comments?

Having had moments in life that have led from option B to C to D and further into the alphabet this book helped to give perspective and a 'permission' to be so hard on myself - Thank you.

I always like a book that is read by the author - it gives an even greater insight to the knowledge they are sharing.
There are so many highlights within this book that I could share - however I couldn't do it justice. If you want a guide to working smart where you are given deep insights to the psychology why in a way that isnt preaching - but is real - then this is the book for you.
Im about to listen to it again as there were so many 'nuggets' within the pages.
