The Way of the Sufi presents an unparalleled cross-section of material from Sufi schools, Sufi teachings, and classical writings as a basic course of Sufi study. The author begins with the outward aspects of the teaching most likely to puzzle the student coming fresh to the subject. He considers various attitudes to Sufi ideas and evidence of their absorption into medieval Christianity, Hinduism, Jewish mysticism, and modern philosophical teachings.

Good read but the narrator couldn't even pronounce the names of the author or those who he was quoting. I stopped the audio book, returned it and switched to the e-book instead.

What follows is a bracing, true account of conflict and patience, in-laws and family heirlooms, as Melissa and Kamau deal with cold shoulders, rejection, and finally resolution.

Imagine standing on a box in the middle of a busy city, dressed as a white-faced bride, and silently using your eyes to ask people for money. Or touring Europe in a punk cabaret band, and finding a place to sleep each night by reaching out to strangers on Twitter. For Amanda Palmer, actions like these have gone beyond satisfying her basic needs for food and shelter - they've taught her how to turn strangers into friends, build communities, and discover her own giving impulses.

I usually don't care for autobiographies but Amanda Palmer is such a delight! I love her music and her general public interactions. This book was a great insight in to her world, the inspiration behind her music and tackling the music industry, as well as all the day-today emotions and experiences. Would definitely recommend to any creative minds. The addition of her songs in between chapters was an added bonus.
