Such a beautiful tale

I’m not a romantic but this beautifully written story is a sad and almost simple tale of someone you’ll invest in. Charming, shy Harry and his battle to love and to be ‘normal’, or not, in a time when love could only be conventional. Love stories are not usually written with men as the main character and this certainly does not start as a love story, or even set out to be one but friendship and bonds are tried and tested with the aid of a wonderful narrator and author working together with a quiet, understated partnership. I couldn’t press stop and I didn’t want it to end.

Really? The review stars on this book do not correspond with the comments. Read before you buy. It’s dreadful! So far fetched. 2 out of 4 in the group can fly a plane? To Australia! All the dead in her life are miraculously still alive? The virus? Dear god what a load of utter TRIPE! I stuck with it but even with just an hour to go I returned it. I was driving along listening and laughing at its awfulness. Just don’t bother. None of it links, everyone is in a different place but miraculously has help from each other and the military. An 80 year old woman then suddenly commands the military. Laughable

Brilliant.

This is a fantastic account of Mrs May’s time in power so far; unbiased, informative and straight forward. Shipman is a master at his craft. Fantastic, engaging narration adds to the product; highly recommended for those who have an interest in modern politics.

I really enjoyed this book, the narrators were good, and the accents etc worked. The story was intriguing, the idea that previously happy relationships were no longer working because they weren't a 'match' makes you think. I liked the way the story went back and forth between the various characters. Definitely worth a listen

Loved this book, I love discovering a new author and a slightly different genre. So many books are repeats of something I've already read. It's dark... but funny! How? I have no idea but you'll relate to her when you're in a bad mood or have PMT! 😆. I really can't wait for the sequel. The narrator was great too. Loved it!

I loved loved Val's books until the last couple of years. Bring back the 'Tony & Carol' class or I give up on this author. This book is average, her last was awful. The writing of this is ok, the narrator ok (so many Scottish variations I got confused) but the story was pretty bland and disappointing. Average at best, and not the seat gripping books of many years ago sadly she

A holiday read I wouldn't recommend. So many characters to keep up with in terms of victims, police etc. Unnecessary amount, far fetched unrealistic story. Narrator was good. Not an author I'll revisit in a hurry

Loving this new 'genre' and am currently binging Luke's books.. the Stoneman is amazing! Kill someone is brilliant and weird. And this is ... so different to anything else I've read. Luke's books are not quite full on sci fi, not quite fantasy or horror yet they take you almost into another way of thinking. Oh it's had to explain.

Just read his books. You'll get it then! He's brilliant on twitter etc too. Seems to enjoy interacting with his readers and you really went to get behind this guy and see him succeed.

The 3 books of his I've read so far would all make great films. I've loved the books and can't wait to listen to the next one. Get writing Luke, we want more 😊😊

I loved this book. Ive been totally bored with what I've read recently and I've even sent a couple of books back. I have a list of usual authors as I guess we all do, I've added Luke to that list, this book is different and much needed on the market today. I've forwarded it on (the free one book deal on audible) so I'm spreading the love too. Bravo Luke for breaking the mould. Can't wait to read more of your work.
