Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook addition of According to Yes, the hilarious new novel by Dawn French. The Foreign Land of the Very Wealthy - otherwise known as Manhattan's Upper East Side - has its own rigid code of behaviour. It's a code strictly adhered to by the Wilder-Bingham family. Emotional displays - unacceptable. Unruly behaviour - definitely not welcome. Fun - no thanks. This is Glenn Wilder-Bingham's kingdom.

Dawn French has a lovely style...there is a gutsy, real life beauty to her story that can't fail to touch my sensitivities. She speaks about humanity with intimate knowledge and humour.... I was so sorry when this story came to an end. Really good read x

As a woman of the same age, with many of the same fears about my memory/mental agility and competence, I found Alice's journey powerful and intimate. I was mesmerised by the story and totally immersed in her choices and feelings in relation to others and her family. Very touching story.

this is a superb book for anyone who wants to know more about the internal struggle that is common in a person with BPD. It is beautifully honest and personal and a privilege to share Rachel's experience of therapy. The relationship that the therapist and therapy offers her in which to explore her damage, is truly special! You will never get a better chance to be a 'fly on the wall' and gain some insight into the struggle. Brilliant!

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her 'our little genius'. Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells.

If I had realised what this story was about I would NOT have chosen it....
It was only once I was into the story that I slowly started to realise that Melanie wasn't normal, nor was her environment. Something made me continue to listen and I became more and more engrossed!
I ended up listening avidly to the whole book and eagerly returning for more.
I really enjoyed it and, as I said at the begining, I would not have chosen it or anything of this ilk....very pleasantly surprised!

I was disappointed with this as the information is very dated and possibly even inaccurate with modern thinking and the development of Neuroscience...
At best it's a basic informative book for first time parents at worst it's very limited.
