Good story, I've read these in order. The male narrator is good but the female make clary sounds like a whinny little twit.

Lady Preshea Villentia has four dead husbands and a nasty reputation. What society doesn't know is that all her husbands were marked for death by Preshea's employer. And Preshea has one final assignment. It was supposed to be easy, a house party with minimal bloodshed. Preshea hadn't anticipated Captain Gavin Ruthven - massive, Scottish, quietly irresistible, and...working for the enemy. In a battle of wits, Preshea may risk her own heart - a terrifying prospect, as she never knew she had one.

I have listened to similar books by the author and they are great, like this one. Such a shame about the reader. She seems to pause in the middle of every sentence and there are a number of longer words that she pronounced wrong.
The reader of the finishing school books was amazing and she read the lead of this book. They should have used her again.

Such a shame. Found it really hard to listen to.

Batina Dawson wants two things most in her life. She's determined to become a partner at her law firm and secure her younger sister's financial future. That's why she talked Dusti into flying to Alaska, to mend fences with their terminally ill, rich grandfather. It seemed to be a perfect plan - until things go wrong. The plane crashes and their lives are saved by two large, muscled brothers. Kraven is a spiked-haired menace with a handsome face and a killer body.

Would you listen to Clockwork Prince again? Why?

Yes, quite detailed so you pick up new things when listening again. I also had to listed to the 8 books that are out in the correct order to figure out who was related to whom.

What did you like best about this story?

Strong female character holding her own with the strong males and historically interesting (example the dressing issues faced by women)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Read in order. There are 3 series of three books, this is from the 1st series.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (Dramatised) to be better than the print version?

Maybe

What other book might you compare Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (Dramatised) to, and why?

Terry Pratchett, they are both very cleaver writers who really draw you in and get you thinking.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Good but I much prefer it when Douglas Adams narrates them himself. I think you get more of a feel for how he wanted it to be taken.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I work at St John's College and it was brilliant to think of it happening here. I really hope there is a Fellow here like the one in the book. I could believe that no one would notice they'd been here for ever.

Any additional comments?

The second book in this series is also beilliant.

Sebastian Ellingham isn't known for being a happy vampire. And when his long estranged wife returns expecting to pick up where they left off, things take a sharp turn toward cranky. Sure he's been protecting her for centuries, but her assumption that he's still available (he is) rankles. His answer is to hire a woman to play his fiancée. The lucky victim is Tessa Blythe, sister of one of the town's deputies, librarian in need of a job and, oh yes, reluctant Valkyrie.
