Awful, awful narration...

I really tried with this but the narration was so bad it was almost insulting. He manages to make all the characters sound like simpletons and the breathy, childlike characterisation of the lead female character (a police detective) is beyond dreadful. I perservered as long as possible to overcome the narration but less than half way through I had to admit defeat...

Liked the narrator. Story was okay but not as compelling as some of his other bits. Had to fast forward the gory chapters in the end - they were just too much for me and also rather repetitive.

Poor quality recording. Managed about 2 minutes before I had to turn it off! No comparison to some of the excellent audio yoga sessions available. Grating and annoying!

Fantastic book

Fantastic book. I had already seen the film before I read it, but as the book is much more complex (and much darker in places) than the film, there was plenty to keep me interested. Excellent narration too.

Really enjoyed it!

Not a great piece of classic literature, but who cares!! Very enjoyable and compelling listening. Will definitely be buying the sequel. Only real criticism is that some of the narrator's accents were rather peculiar, but at least it made for interesting listening!
