One of the world’s most recognisable sci-fi stories, H. G. Wells’ The War of The Worlds established numerous conventions for the genre, including the threat of an invasive extraterrestrial species, space travel and intergalactic conflict, inspiring directors, gamers, producers and writers alike with its sobering story of struggle and survival. Marrying the suspense, drama and urgency of Wells’ original novel with Jeff Wayne’s rousing and flamboyant score, Audible’s new and exclusive dramatisation uses action, narration, original music and evocative sound design to immerse listeners in a world that’s as thrilling as it is desolate.

Finally we have a deeper insight into this classic story. I have loved the War of the Worlds since i was a child and have owned the original album on every new medim as it was released. The story is very well told and the performances are exelant. A fantastic old story told in a brave new way.

A magical serial killer is on the loose, and gelatinous, otherworldly creatures are infesting the English countryside. Which is making life for the Ministry of Occultism difficult, because magic is supposed to be their best kept secret. After centuries in the shadows, the Ministry is forced to unmask, exposing the country's magical history - and magical citizens - to a brave new world of social media, government scrutiny, and public relations.

Differently Morpheus is my least favourite of Yahtzee’s books and it’s still totally awesome

Ben “Yahtzee” crowshaw has gone from nameless YouTube guttersnipe (his words) to my favourite living author, of all his books I found this one the least entertaining but that being said it’s still a fantastic story well told but lacks the depth of Mogworld and the Fun of Will save the galaxy for food. That being said Yahtzee is still a shining beacon of good story telling and likeable characters in mesmerising story’s, absolutely sublime book but just not my favourite... wait I forgot about Jam. Fuck it this books great and if YOU don’t think so you must be stupid (extra points if you got all the ZP references) I’m not a fan boy (yes you are)

What did you like best about this story?

It made me look back on the 10,000+ hours i spent playing video games (online or otherwise) as time not so wasted, a Geektacular extravaganza made so much better by Will Wheaton, and the perfect way to end a day of retro gaming on my laptop while Star trek: The Next Generation plays out in the background, If you haven't done it, Try it, then listen to this book
