The End of Money is an essential introduction to cryptocurrencies and the blockchain revolution, which has been hailed as the greatest advancement since the invention of the Internet. Murder for hire. Drug trafficking. Embezzlement. Money laundering. These might sound like plot lines of a thriller, but they are true stories from the short history of cryptocurrencies - digital currencies conceived by computer hackers and cryptographers that represent a completely new sort of financial transaction.

A great way to go from zero if not to hero, then at least to informed. Authoritative, balanced and well written, this is a really good first book on the subject for the curious.

Imagine you had a small pamphlet of information on a really hot topic and somebody challenged you to turn it into a book (or even 4 books) because there seemed to be a great demand for this kind information. You'd write a book like this. You'd make assumptions, write meaningless generalisations, you'd re-phrase the meaningless generalisations and assumptions and then you might occasionally sprinkle in a tiny piece of information, add another sweeping generalisation, re-phrase that and then summarise and repeat. Endlessly. This book is an exercise in waffle. If it was edited (which I doubt), it was the worst editing job in history. I want my money back. Halfway through, I actually felt angry about how I was being patronised and how my time was being wasted and cut my losses. Research the author's other work. It's a formula that he's used in many other hot topic areas. This book is 95% empty. Avoid.

What did you like most about The Challenger Customer?

The sales and marketing landscape is changing and those changes are far reaching and permanent. Senior sales and marketing solution sales professionals are grappling with a new set of problems. Highly connected and informed 21st century buyers refuse to be sold to and instead, take control - engaging only after they have already completed 57% of their buying journey. This book explains how to change the buyer journey and what B2B sales and marketing professionals have to do to avoid becoming a statistic as even sophisticated solutions become commoditised. I sat listening to the audio book at my computer, fascinated and drawing out a mind map to enable me to quickly explain the essence of it to my team. Those of you who read the book will understand how to sell to my business better, given that information. Fascinating.
