I really enjoyed this. the narration was lovely and easy to listen to. Its appealing because it is about one man's life and it's loves and losses and beautifully written. The characters are solid and easily painted in your mind and highlights how we will all face the end of life one day and maybe like this, reflecting on our past and our decisions and their we miss and love as much as ever . Well worth listening to when your pottering around or just relaxing in your favourite place.

I've often wondered what it must be like to be a refugee, and this book definitely takes you into the thoughts of someone suffering such terrible losses and losing hope . The narration gives it a depth I don't think I would have picked up if I was reading it . I was left feeling fairly bereft for everyone who finds themselves born behind different borders to my own, but a necessary read I think

it was a good fast paced read, nice narration, if a little far fetched in places, could even have done with a few showdown chapters at the end. Good listen for boring car journeys

there are many stories of the camps, and his is telling it again, but very personal and with the reasons why you still fight to love and live circumstances that are unreal and as horrific Worth the read

I always worry when stories are woven around real life events. This has been thoughtfully done and really evokes the realities of each girls existence. Found myself looking up the real events. Stories that should be told and continue to be told .

predictable

well narrated , but predictable all the way through. Nice observations of the emotional reactions. The main character is a bit unbelievable in her reactions throughout, but well enough written to pass the time on a long journey

It took a while for me to get into this, but, once I understood the rhythm it took it was fine. I stopped every so often because it gives you much to absorb and ponder and if nothing else is a warning from history about how easily we can be controlled and our lives destroyed. It will haunt me for a while yet, the epilogue on it own is superbly written and stands a testament of why these books need to be written and why we need to learn what they have to teach us .

Certainly a book I'd recommend to anyone interested in the law or Politics. an eye opener to the possibilities of what can happen to you, and what it will cost you and why the law is the way it is. I hope there is an intention for more of the same. Very real, very alarming .

this has a nice pace, and keeps moving fast enough to not get bogged down in unecessary details. Good characters and interesting diversions. Kept me interested enough to keep wanting to turn everyone else off so I could listen.
