Having read and listened to Jill Paton Walsh’s collaborations with Dorothy L Sayers on the Whimsy books, I felt emboldened to try one of her own works. I am so glad I did! She did not disappoint and I now have the Isobel Quy books to savour. Looking forward to a good rich series.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Shepherd's Crown to be better than the print version?

I love to listen to Sir Terry's books on long journeys and also when drifting off to sleep - I seem to delve deeper into the stories that way.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Tiffany meets up with her beau - an 'aww' moment for me - the characters have such depth, you know it is a love that will stand the test of time.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Granny Weatherwax saying to Death,"Let's go, then" and his reply, "We left some time ago." I wept buckets.

Any additional comments?

A fabulous farewell from both Sir Terry Pratchett and from Granny Weatherwax. I didn't want either to go. Much of the book haunts me, but I love the way it is full of hope and laughter for the future. Beautifully performed by Stephen Briggs.A gift.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love this book and come back to it time and again (no pun intended). The story is so believable and I just want to follow Max into the past - she rocks!

What did you like best about this story?

Max is a great character, full of confidence and courage, yet flawed and vulnerable, too. I'd love to be her! Jodi Taylor has created common-sense rules about time travel and the twists and turns in the story keep the reader on the edge of their seat.

What does Zara Ramm bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Zara's voice is smooth and she delivers the story as though she is a friend telling you over a glass of wine. She embodies Max.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! Although I also wanted to savour it because I didn't want it to end.

Any additional comments?

Thank goodness there are a series of books. I can't wait for the next instalment.
