I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. As a Dota and Moonduck fan (+ excessive consumer of audiobooks) it seemed worth a try.

Frankly, I was blown away with how interesting this was. I finished it in a weekend :)

Honest. Much of this book was very personal, and describes difficult times in his life. While more dramatic, I definitely related to some of them. it was fascinating listening about his personal and professional growth from a pleb like us, to the highest tier of talent.

Fascinating. I started Dota in 2015, so a lot of the history was fresh to me. I had never heard of sniff sniff, and actually didn't realize Zyori has such a hand in the early BTS. This history of the game I now love was amazing, a window into all I missed.

Inspiring. through it all Zyori shows one thing above all, a passion for his work. He lost it in places, from being overloaded or by working with the wrong people. He never gave up though, and always found it again. It surprising how much I related to some of the themes of the book, seeing the high and lows of his career was a real mirror to some of my experiences. Through it all, he always found his way back to that Passion, there were tough times but that drive always brought him back. Then finally all that work payed off, and look at him now.

p.s I really hope Slacks comes through and does a read through :)

After the first book, I had big expectations for starsight.

As usual, Sanderson does not disappoint. great story, twists and mysteries you won't see coming, and great characters.

The voice actor was perfect, really brought the characters to life.

I don't know how this man shout out so many epic story's every year, but I for one hope it never end.

Skyward is a great read, finished it in 2 weeks, loved the characters, loved the twists and the mysteries, loved the ending.

To readers of the way of kings, the main character here reminded me a lot of lift (probaly not right spelling). the way of kings made Sanderson my favourite writer, and this book was on par for me.

Really hope he makes it into a series...

what the hell is wrong here?

so first of all, wheel of time is an epic series and I'm loving it. BUT, this book and the last book, the editting has been getting worse and worse! to the point were I am pretty sure the last chapter is missing? Audible, not sure how I complain but I'll figure that out later. now I have to find an copy of the actual book and check... may stop buying the audiobook copy from here on in as a review for book 9 says the same thing. Very disappointed..

I wasn't sure about listening to this book, I love Sanderson books but the description of this said it was slightly different to his usual style book.

Despite my reservations I loved this book, great characters, great story, and as always an unusual and fascinating form of magic (investiture). Plus an appearance of hoid.

Also, almost as important as the book itself, great performance by the narrator.

What a book!

I would like to start by saying: please Brandon Sanderson, I understand if there is no sequel. but please at least write a spin off, or even a prequel showing keyine's (not sure how to spell this) life as a pirate, I would love to see more from this universe.

This is the first book in a long time that makes me wonder, "do I like this better than game of thrones?".

I love the charters in the book, Rathen was a particular favourite of mine. From the start he is the villain of the story, the person bent on crippling a nations government so he can convert the people and expand the durethy empire......... and yet I can't help but like this character.

The magic is complex and just cool. Incredibly well written, great plots and twists. Plus at the end of this publication the author includes a short description of the drafting process for the book, this was great, it gave an insight into how the author writes and the how different the book could have been.

Brandon Sanderson is fast becoming my favourite author, I've listened to all of Mistborn, now I've finished Elantris; next stop the way of kings!

P.s. The emperor's soul is my favourite novella, incredible characters and really interesting form of magic. if you liked this book, READ the emperor soul, you will not regret it.

I'm a big fan of Star Wars books. however, I was not sure how good story could be made with small locked up in a prison. it was a touch slow to get moving, but well worth intriguing plot lines and twists.

A great book, all of the characters are interesting and complex, my favourite being dog man - an archer with what seems like super smell.

one of my favourite books so far, topped only by game of thrones, dune.... and a close contender with I am legend (and that's a damn good book)

in summary, great fantasy with diverse characters, an interesting approach to magic, it will leave you wanting more (could use a few dragons though)
