Great story but I really didn’t like the narration. It made the characters sound almost comedic in parts. Fiona’s voice was nothing short of ridiculous. If you can get past that it’s worth a listen as the story is really well put together.

The Hypnotist's Love Story is about the mild craziness that lurks behind the facades we present to the world, especially when it comes to love. Ellen O'Farrell is an expert when it comes to human frailties. She's a hypnotherapist who helps her clients deal with everything from addictions to life-long phobias. So when she falls in love with a man who is being stalked by his ex-girlfriend she's more intrigued than frightened.

I've listened to all of the Liane Moriarty books available on Audible and, next to What Alice Forgot, this is my favourite.

Seemingly simply lives entwine to create this wonderful story. That's the beauty - it's so believable. The relationship between the key characters unfolds at a tantalising pace. I didn't want it to end !!!!!

DI Tom Thorne must discover the link between these killings and a murder/suicide that took place twenty-five years before; a tragedy to which the only witnesses were two small children, now adults and nowhere to be found. How can you escape a past that will do a lot more than just catch up with you?

Then a sharp pathologist notices traces of benzodiazepine in one of the victim's blood samples and just traceable damage to the ligaments in her neck, and their cause of death is changed from 'natural' to 'murder'.

A marriage is what you make it, isn't it? It's what you put into it. It's not just about love; it's about understanding another person's point of view. Sometimes there are things you find out about yourself and each other, which means the marriage has to end. Sad, particularly when kids are involved - but all pretty normal. Normal, that is, until there's a murder.

I was delighted that a new book in this series was available and I listened again from the start. This story took some surprising turns which gave a different view of our 'heroes' Tony and Carol.
It felt like a filler though. Lots of scope for the next book but this story lacked the depth of a crime story that one comes to expect from this duo. I was left feeling that this book was introducing the next. Overall, not as gripping as the rest of the series.

A dead girl lies on a blood-soaked mattress, her limbs spread in a parody of ecstasy. The scene matches a series of murders which ended with the conviction of Derek Tyler. But Tyler's been locked up in a mental institution for two years, barely speaking a word. Criminal psychologist Dr Tony Hill thinks this is not a copycat murder but something much stranger. Hill heads towards a terrifying face-off with one of the most perverse killers he has ever encountered….
