A great book. Narrated by Johnny Vegas who brings it to life like no other narrator could, his words in his voice. Laughter and tears with the highs and lows from the young lad to the man that he is today.many people have trouble with his humour and in your face approach jokes, but this is the real Johnny. A eye opener for sure, warts and all book.

Loved this from start to finish , from his day as a lad until his later life in law. A man who has seen life and death and travelled the globe, suffered the lows and highs that life has brought him but from this has risen a man who has learnt from it all. Never gave up , looked back but also moved forward and lived his life to the full .... a full on account of a life lived on the edge

I have loved spike since I was a kid and read all his books , and as a audio book he never disappoints. If you’re a fan you’re going to love it and some may say that it is not the best, but you have to remember that they all have a story to tell and that this story is his, Spikes, it’s not a piece of fiction but what happened to him in the war, cry and laugh but remember that it happened and try and put yourself in his place and how you would have dealt with it and then write it down....
