How could any proof reader or publicist not correct her massive, unnecessary over use of *she said, he said*. It ruined the book. Also why didn’t the narrator miss out a few. The story was good. Very M M Kaye in style and content.

A lovely story ruined by the reader and the appalling, irritating warble in the background. I am going to try and make an official complaint to Audible. It was unbelievably awful.

What a refreshing change. Not only an exceptional story but beautifully read. I can’t wait for Gail’s next book. I shall definitely be looking for more books read by Cathleen McCarron

The reader sounded half drunk throughout the whole book. Very, very badly read. And a fairly lame storyline

Appallingly badly written. Dreadful delivery. Totally incorrect historically. Many errors in continuity. Example Daphnis daughters in one chapter have brown eyes and in the next have blue. In fact the book was so bad I'm returning it.

A reasonable story. BUT the WORST NARRATOR I have ever listened to. She is unable to pronounce even the most basic words. I cannot believe anyone could pass this as saleable. Such incredible blunders and appalling delivery

I have to say I'm a great fan of Alison Bruce's books. Helped enormously by knowing Cambridge. I can't wait for the next instalment. Lovely complicated personalities and great story line. Thank you.
