Brilliantly written and inspiring! It is for experts and non-experts alike. Accessible but highly informative.

If you can get over the fact that the young narrator couldn’t pronounce basic everyday words such as clerk, muscles, brooch... and tried to speak with the worst accents I have ever heard - cringingly bad - then the tale passes the time with some charm. I enjoyed it more when I first read it years ago when I was sad to end the book and missed Rob J’s character. This time, however, I found it more rambling and with laboured detail. It passed the time however when I was ill in a gentle and heart-warming way.

So glad to have heard this. Brilliant narration, particularly the accents.
Get it. You won't regret it (unless you're a bigot)!

Why 1 star? Because there is no category for none! Self-indulgent, predictable, thrown-together with plot-holes and unbelievable, tedious characters. A real disappointment after 'I let you go' - can't believe they are written by the same author!

Fascinating and very accessible

My partner read this book and was always talking to me about the fascinating ideas in it. I much prefer hearing and talking about things than reading them and this was one book that I really wanted to hear for myself. I wondered whether it would work as an 'audible' book but it is excellent so far! I'm really enjoying playing excerpts and then thinking about them. It will change the way you think about thinking and you'll spend so much time going 'oops! System One thinking there...' as you generalise without evidence and pin your colours to an argument! I absolutely love the book and it is so much more enjoyable for me when I don't have to read it myself but can just listen!

Good if you already understand the basics

If, like me, you've been trying to learn Greek for ages and want something to give you yet another boost - this could be your solution. A passage or conversation is read and then taken apart with English explanations and you're given lots of opportunity to use the phrases yourself as they ask you to say things. It's cumulative so it builds on previous work all the time. I think if you were having this as a first-time introduction to Greek it wouldn't work unless you're happy to just copy without understanding. I like to understand things, so it helps me that I already understand the grammar basics. This just gives me lots of practice at speaking and getting things right. I'll continue to download the units as I find it so easy to use on my phone - plus I can plug it into the car and do it as I drive.
