A fantastic book with the perfect narrator for the story. Easy to follow and great characters. Kept me hooked. This book should be the definition they use in the dictionary of audiobook because it's perfect.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Watchmaker's Daughter to be better than the print version?

Never read the print version so cannot compare but I do prefer Audio versions.

What other book might you compare The Watchmaker's Daughter to, and why?

Discovery of witches, it has that same sort style, it works for teens or adults, very easy to listen to and the story is very uncomplicated and it has an air of mystery about it.

What about Emma Powell’s performance did you like?

She was a very good narrator, some of the accents sounded off but I could easily tell which character was talking by her voice change so it wasnt confusing in the slightest and made it a pleasure to listen too.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Havent found a book in about a year that's stopped me from falling asleep however I've been listening to this into the early hours and in the daytime which I rarely do.

Any additional comments?

Great cast of characters who all had their own air of mystery and left me wanting to find out more about all of them. The main 2 characters were fantastic and both flawed which I thunk made them more appealing. I had no idea what or who the main character (Matt) was despite numerous wrong guesses throughout the story until the end. Rich and vivid world was built up. Only slight negative is the ending was weird it wasn't an ending but more like the end of a chapter and I think if I would of had to wait for the second book to release rather than go straight onto it then it may have left a frustrating annoyance. Overall great book that's worth the listen.

Fantastic easy relaxing book to sit back and listen too. I usually go for more complex stories but thought I'd go for something a bit easier this time and I wasn't disappointed. All the characters are real and I really connected with a few of them and the writer had this knack of twisting every character, just has you started to despise one they did a great act of charity and just has you started to love one you found out something bad they had done and you never knew which way the plot will twist. The narrator was very good especially the woman's voices although the men's voices all sounded similar and I got confused a couple of times to who was speaking but she was such a great narrator overall. This I would say is more of a woman's story as in theres no real action but sometimes as a man I like to take an easy listen and this ticked all the boxes, great variety of characters, small quaint village and the day to day life that's it, it's just easy to follow and real.

Great story but the narration was absolutely superb and made this story absolutely incredible. The narrator really brought the character to life and made the lead seem like a real person. The only downfall was I wish they would of focused a bit more on what life was like when they went back in time to give me a real sense of what life was like but I found it a little lacking in that department but regardless still a fantastic Story.
