Not much happens in Book 10. Mat’s story gets the most development, but that’s not saying much this time. Chapter 28 the recording goes a little funny, like they changed the room it was recorded in or the microphone used or something.

Sam’s book was a delightful listen. He blends anecdote from his own experiences “waking up” from the delusion that there is a subjective ego at the centre of consciousness with scientific and philosophical discussion of the brain and consciousness, and a defence of spirituality shorn from the trappings of religion and dogma. A good book for those of a scientific bent who have concerns that entirely throwing out the bath water of religion may risk discarding the baby of introspective truth accidentally gleaned by ancient contemplatives.
