It took me a while to get into this and I actually restarted it twice after listening but not taking anything in for the first 30 mins but once I did I fell in love with Eleanor it was funny and heartbreaking and it made me think about what it is like to be lonely and made me think of those I come into contact that might be experiencing this isolation. I was hooked and didn’t want to the book to end I was routing for her and couldn’t wait to find out what happened to her, fantastic I enjoyed it so much

Indulge in this lovely, cake-filled novel of romance and friendship. Christmas Cakes and Mistletoe Nights is Carole Matthews at her heart-warming best! Fay and Danny are madly in love, and it's all Fay's ever dreamed of. But she left everything - including the delightful cake shop she used to run - to be with Danny on his cosy canal boat, The Dreamcatcher. And as she soon finds out, making delicious cakes on the water isn't always smooth sailing!

Robin Wilde has a beautiful six-year-old daughter, a job she's really rather good at, a wonderful best friend and an auntie who is bonkers, yes, but loves her to the moon and back. But Robin has a secret. Behind the mask she carefully applies every day, she can't shift the grey, lonely feelings of The Emptiness. She struggles to fit in with the school mum crew, online dating is totally despair-inducing and she worries all the time about raising her daughter with self-confidence, courage and joy.

I really enjoyed the story but the narrator didn't go, I would have loved it if Louise had read it and I imagine her saying the lines it was the only thing else it would have been 5 * all the way from me. Please please get Louise to narrate the next one if there is (fingers crossed!) robin is the kind of character I would like to follow yr by yr

Lacey Spears made international headlines in January 2015, when she was charged with the "depraved mind" murder of her five-year-old son, Garnett. Prosecutors alleged that the 27-year-old mother had poisoned him with high concentrations of salt through his stomach tube. To the outside world, Lacey had seemed like the perfect mother, regularly posting dramatic updates on her son's harrowing medical problems. But in reality, Lacey was a textbook case of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

I listened to this in 3 days, I had never heard of the case before and I couldn't stop until I heard what happened to this poor little boy, I work with children in safeguarding and this was a fascinating insight into this mothers life and really interesting to hear people's accounts, and her blog and social media posts. Such a shame that we will never really know what that poor child went through, but a complex case the professionals can learn from
