For Kim Woodburn, finding fame in her 60s in the smash-hit television series How Clean is Your House? with fellow dust-buster Aggie Mackenzie is like living a fairytale. Often, however, she has simply wished that she had never been born, for Kim has overcome horrific emotional and physical abuse, both at the hands of her alcoholic mother and her philandering, abusive father.

The B!tch is back…and she's brought The Grit Doctor along for the ride. What’s in your handbag? To-do lists scrawled on the back of receipts? An unpaid bill? Half a chocolate bar, covered in fluff? Is your handbag a metaphor for the rest of your life? Has becoming a capable, poised grown-up turned out to be more complicated than you imagined? If you answered yes to any of these questions, and if you're tired of the crappy stuff in life grinding you down, then it's time to stop whining and Get Your Sh!t Together.

"Why do you want to be a boat builder?" "Because," said Morwenna, "I like the way the boats grow." Morwenna and Corwin are eight years old, wind-swept and salty-haired twins growing up on the Devon coast. In the soft autumn light they play as their grandfather, Matthew, watches the boats come in. But it is a day unlike any other.

Ruby Wax - comedian, writer and mental health campaigner - shows us how our minds can jeopardize our sanity. With her own periods of depression and now a Masters from Oxford in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy to draw from, she explains how our busy, chattering, self-critical thoughts drive us to anxiety and stress. If we are to break the cycle, we need to understand how our brains work, rewire our thinking and find calm in a frenetic world.
