I read a one-star review here about how this was outdated and out of tune with todays world. Well, that is exactly why I liked it a lot, reminded me of my childhood when I would watch The Twiligt Zone in secret from my mom. If you grew up int the seventies or early eighties, you will probably get a nostalgic kick out of this. I highly recommend. Will download the next book immediately!

Warning: possible spoilers!
Loved the first book; a (for me) new setting for a zombie apocalypse, with some mention of never before seen zombies that don't just want to eat you. But this second book kind of forgot that there are zombies running around and just concentrated on the protagonist vs the bad guy. Felt a little like The Walking Dead, where everything is just about people not getting along nowadays. Which is why I stopped watching TWD; too few zombies, too many quarrels between people. Will not continue this series.
The only positive thing I found was the narrator, Christian Rummel. Almost as good as RC Bray, and will definitely listen to him again. I cannot grasp how this is a bestselling series; don't you people want zombies in your zombie apocalypse?

I read a review here that said this was not suitable for an audiobook and that you would need to see visuals to understand what is happening every now and then. I do not agree with that, those "scenes" were few and far between and I could perfectly understand what was happening from the context. I really enjoyed this, and laughed out quite a few times. Rowan Atkinson really is a master of humour, and the only downside to this is that there is no more material to purchase.

Great story, awesome narrator. I want more! And this sentence is just here to fill the minimum of 15 words... because when something is as great and funny as this book is, one cannot always put the why into words. Oh and it seems my extra sentence was not needed after all!

Nope...

Just as boring and un-alienlike as the movie. This franchise needs a reeboot. And soon!

I have yet to come across a ghost story that works well as an audiobook. I believe that I will give up my search for one, and listen to other genres.

Listening to these productions with multiple narrators, spatial sound etc. kind of makes me wonder if I can ever return to a book with just one narrator. But as the quantity is quite scarce, I guess I have to. This was an excellent story, and the audio and the sound effects were just awesome! Almost felt like watching a movie without the picture (that sounds boring, but I mean it in a positive way). Loved everything about it! Very sad it is over.

Great narrator, but boring story. Nothing really happened. Having just finished it cannot think of one memorable moment.
