I love the way Ayoade can take an idea in so many wierd and wonderful directions, it is truly an art he masters skillfully. When I realised this was about a the content of a B rate movie, I thought I'd still give it a go, but, to be honest his rhetoric was no compensation, and most of the time I was easily distracted.

Could not finish this without great pain.

I had great expectations on reading the reviews for this book, but how disappointed I was. Maybe I can't do romances, but this seemed predictable, contrived and the voice of the boyfriend was awful.

Why do kids like this tedious chase storyline?

Story line somewhat disappointing. Good writer? - not really; tries way too hard to sound lyrical - I mean, do we really need descriptive detail about what was on top of the fridge?

The plot is well thought out, but sometimes it diverged is so many tedious ways with somewhat unnecessary detail about distant relatives etc. that it frustrated the story line.

Enjoyed this novel and would recommend it, but it is not as groundbreaking as some of the reviews suggest and a couple of parts of the plot were somewhat contrived.

I made myself endure this book, not because of the content being upsetting ( these were only fleeting parts), but because it is the most tedious and exacting work I have ever suffered.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

American accent.

Any additional comments?

It is a book that will make you want to punch the protagonist in the head to bring her to her senses. Agony.
