I can't believe there are people prostituting themselves to get medication against opioid addiction. It is unfortunate that health insurances or the goverment do not help them in the United States. They have been abandoned to their fate and only those who have a lot of money can pay the expensive treatments in a facility and have the opportunity to rebuild their lives. This is not fair for them and their families. Waiting lists for rehab are killing people.

This story is the story of many people struggling with addiction. All they need is support and love. It is not easy to overcome addiction and avoid relapsing but it will never happens if no one help them. Withdraw symptoms are awful and mentally destructive. Do not let the brain think clearly or make rational choices. Addiction is a chronic brain disease and it should be treated like other mental health illness.

Please we need to avoid stigma. The mayority of them, around a 75%, are addicted to opioids because of the use of prescription painkillers recomended by their doctors. No one choses to be an addict and being homeless. No one wants to die of an overdose alone in the streets. We all make mistakes in life and we all deserve a second chance.

Thank you very much to Tess family for sharing their story in this book. I hope it will help to raise awareness worldwide. You are very brave. Tess was very brave. No one deserve to die the way she did. I am very sorry for your loss and every loss that is happening DAILY. More than 170 people die everyday due addiction related causes in the United States. This is clearly an epidemic. It is killing an entire generation of loved young people and destroying families, mentally and financially. This should not be happening.

Beautiful.

Life can be hard sometimes but that's what life is about. I am glad she had been able to find happiness at the end.

Addiction is a chronic brain disease. People need to be really strong to avoid relapsing during their entire life. There is always a reason behind the use of drugs. In this case seems to be due emotional pain caused by the difficult relationship with her mother. It is very sad when a child is suffering and usually this can cause long term mental health issues. It is important to treat and help these kids with therapy before they decide to self-harm or self medicate with alcohol and drugs.

Thank you very much Amber for sharing your story. It will help many people who are struggling with chronic emotional pain and addiction. They are not alone. You are not alone either.

You are a brave, strong woman and true to your heart. I hope you enjoy the happiness we all deserve.

Really inspiring. Thank you.

I really think this book can help many people to understand addiction. No one chooses to be an addict. Many of them started taking pain killers from their doctors. Others have an emotional or physical trauma. It is a complex and chronic disease. Please be compassionate and please support the use of Naloxon in your country. It is saving lives and giving them the opportunity to be a full recovery addict with a happy new life. We all deserve a new chance in life.

When they steal, lie, manipulate... it is the brain in "survival mode" because of the withdraw symptoms and the strong pain they are suffering. They are no longer themselves. The brain has been modified due to the chemicals they are using. They can no longer reason or avoid impulsive behavior.

The voice in this audiobook is the voice of a generation struggling with opioids addiction, overdose and death. We are losing our kids, family members and friends. That's why it is so important to be brave and tell these stories regarding of the stigma around addiction. This will help other families that feel hopeless and lost.

THANK YOU Tiffany. You have been very brave writting this book.

A real and honest description about addiction and how this disease affect the addicts and their families. I hope this audiobook spreads awareness and help the families around the world that are suffering from the fight against opiate addiction or the loss of a loved one.

This is an epidemic and the combination of heroin and fentanyl is killing a lot of young people in the United States. Recovery is possible but no without help and support.

A lesson how to destroy your life and then rebuild it.

Sometimes life gives us a second chance. This audiobook is for those who choose to change their situation or who think they are trapped forever in a spiral with no way out.

Drug addiction is the same for everyone. It steals your health and isolates you from the real world and your loved ones.

I just hope that this story helps others see the light at the end of the tunnel before ending up in jail or dead. But remember that no one is going to help you if you do not help yourself first.

This story is honest, real and reflects a reality that millions of people suffer daily. Totally recommended for them and their families.

The best audiobook about addiction and recovery out there. Honest, real, well narrated, dark but also very funny sometimes. This book will help many people. Hope, faith, love and compassion are the key to recovery, specially to yourself. I am very grateful to Khalil for being brave and for writing this book. It is an amazing journey to L.A and the dark side of the drugs world. Addiction is the same for everyone, it doesn't matter if you are using heroin, sex or gambling. It will take your will, power and control your life and life is the only thing we have. Thank you very much for sharing your experience and for helping others. I REALLY recomend this audiobook.
