Since taking over TED in the early 2000s, Chris Anderson has shown how carefully crafted short talks can be the key to unlocking empathy, stirring excitement, spreading knowledge, and promoting a shared dream. Done right, a talk can electrify a room and transform an audience's worldview. Done right, a talk is more powerful than anything in written form.

There are a few moments of content that discuss improving your public speaking, but this book is mainly about how great the author is, and what a good idea he had taking over curatorship of TED.

I really had to force myself to make it all the way through this book, in the (unfulfilled) hope it might get better. I hope your experiences are more positive, I don't feel the relevant content was worth the time investment listening to the entire book.

I enjoyed this audiobook, the reading was good, it flowed well and was engaging for almost all the time.

On occasion it descended into just the montone reading of lists of numbers, which I rapidly found myself zoning out, then missed the beginning of meaningful content and had to skip back.

The only slight annoyance were the interruptions of the author - his material was interesting but delivered as a marketing spiel, we've already bought the book, we don't need to be constantly preached at.

In Mindware, the world-renowned psychologist Richard Nisbett presents these ideas in clear and accessible detail, offering a tool kit for better thinking and wiser decisions.

I didn't give this 5 stars because I've just finished a few books that raised the bar for me. This recording was enjoyable to listen to with a good delivery, although the narrator took a little getting used to for me - that is a personal preference however.

The content itself was mostly engaging, a few moments when I had to concentrate not to tune a particular segment of list recitation out, but overall I enjoyed it.

I was worried the subject matter wouldn't lend itself to audio well, but I think it was brilliant, especially if you have the book itself close to hand to revisit some passages.

Luke Daniels is a wonderful narrator, he manages to impart technical topics in a tone that engages you, rather than some narrators where they put me to sleep.

I really liked the content in the book, but I'm not sure it lends that well to the audio performance. It felt like a substantial part of the book was the reading of lists in a monotonic voice, so maybe better with the written book instead.

I had to force my way through this book - from the very beginning it is self-aggrandising promotion of the author and his various services.

If you stick with it there are some interesting case studies but in hindsight I feel my time would have been more productively spent with other material.
