As a Frenchwoman of highly questionable upbringing, Marie-Anne de Vauteuil was shunned by genteel society. But then, an invitation to London on a mission of mercy from the very family who cast her aside lands her back in society - and into the arms of a man who is nothing but trouble. Wealthy American businessman Mason is a) accidentally engaged, b) desperate to get out of it, and c) neither wealthy nor a businessman. When he meets Marie-Anne, she makes him rethink his life as a fraud, and hoping for something he never believed possible: A proper life with a not-so-proper wife.

He is simply the best narrator out there. His voice is like honey: frankly he could read the telephone directory and I would be hooked. He turns a good book into a great one. He probably reads this stuff and grimaces; but for me it is escapist heaven. Some people turn to drink or drugs when life is s**t, I turn to Regency romances. If they are read by Nicholas Boulton ... heaven! Please do more.

One of the most romantic - and erotic - books I have listened to. Well read, great characters. Gave me goose bumps and left me with a soppy smile on my face. Darius is the ultimate romantic hero, with enough flaws to be human but, gosh, so utterly desirable, sexy, honourable and smart. Might have to listen to it again straightaway.

He was once a legendary highwayman. Now he's a recluse in a ruined French castle, with only a half-wild wolf for a companion. When Lady Leigh Strachan comes looking for a man to aid in her revenge, she's disillusioned to find that the famed Prince of Midnight couldn't help even if he cared to - which he doesn't. S. T. Maitland wants nothing to do with his legend, or with this fierce, beautiful, broken woman... until the old thrill of living on the cutting edge of danger begins to rise in his blood again.

High adventure and dark mystery combine in a sparkling historical romance, by Jodi Taylor writing as Isabella Barclay from The Chronicles of St. Mary's. Bascombe, widowed and tied to an impoverished estate, has learned to ask little of life. With no hope of leaving, the years have passed her by. Wonderful. At last, a successor to Georgette Heyer. Spirited and funny heroine, a hero I could fall in love with - very important - and a good plot. Didn't want it to end.
