David Tennant at his best, wife and I listened to this in the car with kids screaming in the back, very funny and good storylines.

think guy should stick to writing travel books(of which his travel books are quite good), this book is terrible, only listened to it all as paid for it. Can't really emphasise how crap this book is, it's not funny....you would be better finding an old phone book and making your way through it.

Never thought jack reacher would get this diluted

long term fan , pre order everything....this is just ok. perhaps it would be fine for someone who hadn't been gripped by the early books but not for me. characters were unrelatable, noise about bad guys diluted into Albanian mafia , even the crimes committed were not the wince enducing that are normal for the books. just bland. will see what comes next year.....

not for the faint hearted, the parts about abuse took a long time to shake off....however perhaps that's the point that fear is deep and haunting. worth a read, quite upbeat when in relation to the survivors of situations.

Bill Bryson has yet again written a fascinating book , and possibly more so that it is about the human body and full of facts about the body, oddities and extremely interesting stories.

Struggled to identify with Ant Middleton, however there is a lot of good stuff in both his books. Especially liked the everest aspects, fear bubble bits were good.... Far too much repition on the fear bubble aspect. Didn't need explained and examples 100 times for the reader to get it.... However it's a useful, 'get ready, go' approach before adrenalin hits you. Well worth a read.

Loved it, great read. Hunting monsters and generally being grumpy and amazed around the world.

Way to long a book with that storyline...

Would have given up had I not got an audio book of the story, seemed reactive and farcical.... Like a pound land James bond mixed with Jason Bourne on a magical ship. My first CC book... Not going back for more.
