Love the story, narration was okay although I struggled to pick up different characters speaking as they all sound too simular.

A slow start but fantastic book

I found this slow to get into, but keep with it - the best audio book I've listened to in a long time.

Better than the first book!

What made the experience of listening to The Novice the most enjoyable?

This is the second book of the Magician's Guild series. I found it much faster to get into than the first and the storyline was much better. This book has got me wanting to download all of them in the series! The only fault I would say is about the narrator. He tends to leave big gaps between sentences and it sometimes seems like the book has stopped, the a few seconds later he'll start again. Not a major issue, just a bit annoying!

Great vampire series. Different to other types of vampire stories, but fantastic. Takes a bit to get into the story, but when you do, it's fantastic.

A heart warming and lovely story to listen to.

Although this story is very slow paced, it works. It is a very touching storyline and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The narrator is fantastic in this audio book, although famous and you instantly recognise his voice, you forget that very quickly and he becomes Harold Fry. Which shows just how good he is and reading the character. Would definitely recommend.

Bit of a slow starter... But stick with it!

The beginning of this book is a bit boring, and the storyline doesn't move on very fast (hence why I've only given 3 stars). However, as the book progresses it gets a lot better. It turns into a very interesting and different kind of story. I am now on book 2 which is much better than book 1, so stay with it. It will be worth while in the end!

Found it hard to follow...

I really thought I'd love this audiobook. However, I found it really hard to follow and kept having to rewind it as I realised I hadn't listened to half of it! This was my first audiobook, and thought that maybe they are just not for me. However, I have downloaded war horse and loved it! I couldn't stop listening to it! I think I'll try this one again after a while.

Not as good as War Horse, but a nice follow up.

It's a short story following on from war horse. The story is nice, though not nearly as good as war horse.

So much better than I thought it would be. The story is fantastic, the narrator's reading is brilliant and like a book you can't put down, this is an audiobook I can't stop listening to. I think this comes under the children's category, but I loved it and am 26 years old. I think this book is ageless. Fantastic audiobook!
