A Powerful Novel Giving Voice to the Children

This was a moving, powerful novel that through the voices of the children living in the poorest sections of an Indian city confronts a horrific reality in the disappearance of children. It was in places painful to read but I felt an important novel that deserves a wide readership.

This was a novel that grew on me after a slow start. It has a very dark atmosphere, pure Nordic Noir with aspects of horror.

An unusual fantasy as it was rooted in political intrigue rather than the usual fantasy tropes.
Certainly thought provoking. Quite a dark tale.
Wish its sequel would be available on Audible

This is the best use of the audiobook format that I have ever encountered.

Its full cast is well utilised to provide a chorus of voices recounting their experiences of 9/11.

On occasion actual raw audio is utilised from the day.

It is not only a powerful account but a very emotional one.

This is a must listen

A more modest account than hype and certainly confirms many stories in media. Steve Bannon emerges as unlikely anti-hero given that while his views are abhorrent he clearly has a code of honour and was distributed by events he witnessed

The format of this novel with its multitude of narrative voices worked so well with a full cast audiobook. i read it when it was up for the Man Booker Prize and it certainly held up for a reread
