You really have to stick with this book. I almost gave up but glad I didn't as it's a lovely book with lots of stories within the story. it comes in from different angles and jumps backwards and forwards in time but all makes sense in the end. Beautifully written and it's possibly one of my most enjoyed books recently so stick with it and enjoy it as much as I did.

After an epic and interrupted journey all the way from the snows of South Dakota, Jack Reacher has finally made it to Virginia. His destination: a sturdy stone building a short bus ride from Washington D.C., the headquarters of his old unit, the 110th MP. It was the closest thing to a home he ever had. Why? He wants to meet the new commanding officer, Major Susan Turner. He liked her voice on the phone. But the officer sitting behind Reacher’s old desk isn't a woman. Why is Susan Turner not there? What Reacher doesn’t expect is what comes next.

I have just finished this 18th book in the series. I love every book aa they are so descriptive it's almost like watching a film.

This book has a great story line and was not predictable. I really do enjoy every minute of this series and now downloading book 19.

I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Winter in South Dakota. Blowing snow, icy roads, a tired driver. A bus skids and crashes and is stranded in a gathering storm. There's a small town twenty miles away, where a vulnerable witness is guarded around the clock. There's a strange stone building five miles further on, all alone on the prairie. There's a ruthless man who controls everything from the warmth of Mexico....

Suicide bombers are easy to spot. They give out all kinds of tell-tale signs, mostly because they're nervous. By definition they're all first-timers. Riding the subway in New York at 2:00 in the morning, Reacher knows the 12 giveaway signs to look out for. Watching one of his fellow passengers, he becomes sharply aware: one by one, she ticks off every bulletpoint on his list.

I am a huge fan of Lee Child / Jack Reacher. There was a small section within this book where it was a little.political , in my opinion, however as the book progressed I understood why and it worked. The beautiful way these books are written with such in depth description it what I love. Listening to it audibly digs deep into the imagination as it's on the verge of actually watching the film. So it's now time to move onto book 14. I can't wait!

Two small towns in Colorado: Hope and Despair. Between them, nothing but twelve miles of empty road. Jack Reacher can't find a ride, so he walks. All he wants is a cup of coffee. What he gets are four redneck deputies who want to run him out of town. Mistake. They're picking on the wrong guy. Jack Reacher is a big man, and he's in shape. No job, no address, no baggage. Nothing, except bloody-minded curiosity. What is the secret the locals seem so keen to hide?

I am hooked on the Jack Reacher series. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to get started on the next one. There is just so much description that it paints pictures in your head so you can visualise every minute of the journey through the book. Audio books are one of my favourite findings.

I personally have enjoyed this series. Totally relaxing. Story line engages you and you have to keep listening to see what happens next but it still manages to be an easy listen where you can drop in and out. I listen when I'm nodding off to sleep and I enjoyed all 3 books in this series. Definitely worth a listen.

My name is Peter Grant, and until January, I was just probationary constable in that mighty army for justice known to all right-thinking people as the Metropolitan Police Service (and as the Filth to everybody else). My only concerns in life were how to avoid a transfer to the Case Progression Unit - we do paperwork so real coppers don't have to - and finding a way to climb into the panties of the outrageously perky WPC Leslie May. Then one night, in pursuance of a murder inquiry, I tried to take a witness statement from someone who was dead but disturbingly voluble....

For me personally this book didn't work. I listen to my books and I found the speed of the reading, even at the slowest speed, to be too fast. To be fair this may be because the subject matter didn't engage me. I know we are all very different but this is my first audible book that I have not finished. I was bored but I see from reviews others have enjoyed it so maybe that tells me that if I revisit it at some time in the future I may find what I missed this time?

This was my first experience of a Lee Child book despite may recommendation from friends. It was like watching a movie as it is so well written. I listen to my audio books to relax before sleep and every minute of this book has been a pleasure. I am delighted there are so many more in the series.
