Sorry, I have liked works by the author before, but found his lead characters in this work distractingly gung-ho and more akin to the expectations of an Enid Blyton adventure for young adults. the narrator was quite good, though.

I struggled with the characterisation, and the dialogue between the experts in their field seemed out of step with their profession and professional profile.
I have enjoyed other work by Chris Carter, but I found this work was not for me, so I have stopped at Ch25.

The most engaging style from the outset, and a refreshing break from commercial sausage writing. This book touches the heart of the reader throughout with simple and honest desires. Desires we all recognise and share. I am a richer person for reading 'the missing wife' because not only have I shared Imogens journey, I can recognise those values reflected in my own life and treasure them more.
