Story telling at it's best. The interwoven lives told through each character's experience is engaging. I love when the author is also the narrator, because the intonation is then of course absolutely meaningful.

As an Actonian, I found this book very engaging. Hearing the street names we know so well. It was very interesting to see what life was like for the Actonians back then.

A tale of humanity. Enthralling and heartbreaking, but a must read. When all is said and done, we are all damaged humans. Some can never see their own worth, not even in the eyes of those around us, sharing our lives. This story is an emotional rollercoaster.

This should be on everyone's book list.

I thoroughly enjoyed this memoir. Enhanced by the fact that Brian read it himself. Made me laugh out load on a number of occasions. Well worth the listen.

A deeply woven story. Both touching and moving. Great characterisation, leaving nothing uncovered, and laid bare, but the true nature of humankind.
